Real Weddings by Whittington

Mr. and Mrs. Smesny

Where did you get married?
We got married at Old River Assembly Of God Church in Dayton, TX.

What was your first dance song?
Our first dance was "I Cross my Heart," by George Strait

What was your favorite part of your wedding?
Marrying my best friend was of course my favorite part ;)

What are you glad you splurged on?
My dress was my biggest splurge. And I wouldn't change it.

What is your advice to future brides?
Best advice for a bride would be to not stress over silly details.. You're the only one who will know if something messes up, don't make it a big deal. The "oops" made some of my favorite memories :)

What is your husband's name and your new last name?
My husband's name is Travis. And my new name is Mrs. Lacy Jade Smesny :)

Today we are looking at one of our favorite bridal designers! Justin Alexander gowns are extravagant and luxurious, yet they manage to still feel soft and bridal. The bride wearing Justin Alexander is classy and elegant; take a look at a few of these gowns, and you’ll understand what I mean!

To add another Justin Alexander tidbit to the long list of reasons we love these designs, each lace dress uses a different lace than the rest of the collection! This is perfect for the bride that wants to know that she will look like no other on her wedding day.

The satin gowns in Justin Alexander collections are all used with sleek designs. Many of these gowns have high bateau necklines and slimming lines.

Book an appointment and try on a few of the most elegant bridal gowns in this collection! Our trunk show runs June 13th-14th and all Justin Alexander gowns are 15% off for these two days only! 1. Where did you get married?

St. Anne's Catholic Church in Houston!

2. What was your first dance song?

"Our Love Is Here To Stay"- Billie Holiday

3. What was your favorite part of your wedding?

We had such a great time dancing the night away! We wanted to make sure everyone had fun at the wedding, & I think we were successful!

4. What are you glad you splurged on?

My dress. I absolutely loved it and loved how I looked on the wedding day. I couldn't wait to wear it on the big day. I have never felt that beautiful before and I got so many compliments on my dress and how I looked on the wedding day.

5. What is your advice to future brides?

Have fun with the wedding planning process, and don't forget to enjoy the time you are engaged! Do your research on your vendors, but try to narrow down your list to 3 or 4 people and companies to set up appointments to talk to in person. Otherwise, you can become overwhelmed easily!

"Look of Love" Fashion Show

This past April, we joined forces with Northeast Houston's premier vendors and The Overlook to present our "Look of Love" Fashion show, and now we are sharing this beautiful show with you!

Our fashion show this year had a woodland theme, complete with flower crowns, wavy hairstyles, and gorgeous wedding gowns (of course!). The Overlook hosted our show, and it served as a stunning venue for an outdoorsy fashion show...or just a gorgeous wedding! Their expansive windows and extravagant chandeliers pulled our whole look together!

We featured dresses from the bridal collections of Essense of Australia, Justin Alexander, and Lillian West. "Look of Love" also featured bridesmaid collections by Sorella Vita, Bill Levkoff, and Saison Blanche. Take a look at a few of the show-stopping gowns shown on the runway!

Of course, we could never have done this without the fabulous vendors that worked with us! All of the photos shown here, and many more, are the work of Joey T Photography. Our flowers that fit our woodland theme perfectly were designed by Flowers of Kingwood, and the hair and makeup for all of our models was done by Epic Looks.

Supporting Love Gives Way

Houston Wedding Gowns - Whittington Bridal
We are very excited to announce that we are partnering with Love Gives Way  to help put an end to sex trafficking.  To show our support and commitment, we are donating 10% of all our sales February 14th & 15th to this great organization! We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than to help aid in the restoration of victims of sexual exploitation.

Love Gives Way's mission is to rally the wedding community around organizations fighting sex trafficking. This happens when engaged couples book/hire Love Gives Way vendors for their wedding who then give back a portion of their profits to non-profit organizations that are based in their very own cities. Whittington Bridal is supporting the Houston’s faith-based volunteer organization, Redeemed Ministries. Redeemed Ministries focuses on the advocacy, outreach, and restoration of Victims of human trafficking who are subjected to force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor.

Whittington Bridal and Love Gives Way believes that there's nothing more beautiful than when a couple decides to leverage their wedding day, which marks their selfless act of love and commitment to one another, in order to aid in the restoration of someone who has had a part of them selfishly stolen by another for their own gain.

We are also selling Love Gives Way & Whittington Bridal T-Shirts for $25. All proceeds will be donated to Love Gives Way.  Stop by the store to get your shirt and tell your friends!

♥ ♥Mr. & Mrs. Dupeire♥ ♥

1. Where did you get married?

Stockton Springs, Maine!

2. What was your first dance song?

                 "Marry Me"- by Train
The song he used to propose to me!

3. What was your favorite part of your wedding?

The entire "destination" experience, for us and our guests. It was so great to know that while they all came to support us and our special day, they also got an amazing weekend of their own memories to take home as well.

Our venue! The setting was amazing, the food was delicious, and the staff were beyond friendly and courteous to ALL our guests.

Just know that you're going to be stressed the month of the wedding, and be prepared for it.  Make a battle plan with all the things you want to tackle in those weeks before the wedding, and follow it.  By doing this I was able to completely relax when we got to Maine (3 days before the wedding), knowing I already took care of everything!
