I am so glad I splurged on my photographer, since we will have these photos for the rest of our lives.

What is your advice to future brides?

Advice for any bride is don't sweat the small stuff. So many people stress about wedding planning, sit back, relax, and enjoy this amazing experience!

Get the Look: Michelle Kwan

Olympic Ice Skating Legend, Michelle Kwan, was married to Clay Pell, a Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard, on January 19th, in Rhode Island. Michelle wore a lace Vera Wang gown with a long tulle veil and minimal jewelry. You can get her look for WAY less with San Patrick's "Athina" gown. Michelle opted not to wear a belt with her gown, but a classic lace dress, such as her's, can be a blank canvas for all you sash lovers out there.

Real Wedding Wednesday!

 ♥ ♥ Mr & Mrs Grycock  12.1.2012  ♥ ♥

You Looked Gorgeous Irene!!

What was your favorite part of your wedding?

I would have to say when my husband James saw me walking down the Aisle. He looked so in love. When my father handed me to him he whispered in my ear “You look absolutely beautiful”.  During the entire ceremony he kept whispering to me how much he loved my dress and how stunning I looked! It was really sweet and touching.

What are you glad you splurged on?

Definitely would have to say my wedding venue. My guest couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the place was and that the food & service was amazing!! Many people said our cocktail hour was the best they have ever seen. I loved all the details they provided us. It was worth every penny.

What was your first dance song?

Everything" by Michael Buble. It was the first song my husband ever dedicated to me. We both knew it was going to be our wedding song one day. Ever since then I have been a big fan of his music.

Where did you get married?

We are both originally from New Jersey but moved to Houston two years ago. Since most of our friends and family members live in NJ we decided that having our wedding up there. Our ceremony was held at The Epiphany Church in Cliffside Park, NJ (which was my husband’s church since he was a little boy) and our reception was at The Seasons in Washington Township, NJ.

What is your advice to future brides?

My advice to future brides would be (if your budget permits) to have a videographer. As a wedding planner I had so many details at my wedding I would have wanted to see but unfortunately there is never enough time to enjoy it all. That’s why I’m excited to know that they were captured in video and I’ll be able to enjoy every moment and detail I missed with my husband & family.

Get the Look: 2013 Golden Globes

How Excited were you to see who wore what at the 2013 Golden Globes? We love to create bridal looks based off of what we see, and it can also help brides see how to style certain gowns. Julianne Hough looked femine and edgy in her Monique Lhuillier  above. If you love this look for your big day then you would fall in love with San Patricks "Arona".!

Downton Abbey Wedding

We here at Whittington Bridal are huge Downton Abbey fans, and we were loving Mary's bridal look on the season three premier.

Lets start with that headpiece! I'ts an amazing art deco piece that would  transform any bridal look into an elegant tribute to the roaring 20's.

Mary's veil reminds me of another spectacular royal wedding not to long ago.To get this look you must pay close attention to the quality of tulle on your veil. A silk tulle will fall much heavier like Kate's and Mary's, creating that vintage effect. A polyester blend will be much stiffer, and will not appear as flowy.

If you love Mary's gown, but would never consider wearing long sleeves or a high neckline, we suggest a high collar instead. Our current favorite vintage wedding gown has to be Essense of Australia's new lace keyhole back. The high collar makes it so vintage, but the gown is so perfectly modern at the same time.

Essense of Australia

There are so many ways you can incorporate the vintage styling's of Downton Abbey, without making it seem too costume-y.  Just remember to choose modern cuts and timeless fabrics with just a hint of vintage flare. Make sure the wedding still reflects you and is not overly themed.

How sweet are these two! Can't wait for more season 3!

Real Wedding Wednesday! ♥♥

 Elissa & Burton Clark. 10.27.12
What was your favorite part of your wedding?
Our first look.  Burton and I decided to break tradition and see each other before our ceremony. It allowed us the chance to share that intimate, romantic moment without anyone else around. It gave us a sense of calm and helped chase away any nerves we were having.  It made the actual ceremony feel much more relaxed. The other added bonus is that you and your wedding party can take the majority of your photos before hand so you have fewer photos to take after the ceremony. This keeps your guests from having to wait too long for photo time and gets you to your reception quicker!

What are you glad you splurged on?
Our venue.  Burton and I chose Agave Real in Katy for our ceremony and reception.  The major difference between Agave and other places, besides being gorgeous, is that it is considered an all-inclusive venue.  Their packages include a wedding coordinator, invitation package, catering, wedding cake, DJ... the list goes on!  This, of course, costs more but it saved a lot of hassle. I didn't have to worry about shopping around for venues or planning every single detail myself.  If you have a little room in your budget to splurge, I would suggest finding yourself an all-inclusive venue.

What was your first dance song?
"Only You Can Love Me This Way" by Keith Urban.  He's always been one of my favorite artists.  I still remember hearing it for the first time on the radio. I knew immediately it would be the first song Burton and I would dance to as husband and wife.  The lyrics of the song are really symbolic of our relationship and how we feel about one another.  We started dance lessons a few months before the ceremony and had a special dance choreographed for us.  The process was not only fun but it was a nice escape from the rest of the wedding planning.  And we kept the whole thing a secret so our dance moves were a big surprise for our guests!

What is your advice to future brides?
Stay organized and ahead of schedule during the planning process!  I promise you will enjoy the entire experience a lot more when you're not having to worry about last minute planning or decision making.  And, ask your husband-to-be for his opinions throughout the process.  Don't let him get away with the "whatever makes you happy" attitude.  Let him know that his opinion really matters and include him as much as possible.  Yes, most of the focus is on the the bride, but the truth is, it's about the two of you as a couple.  It was really important to me that our ceremony and reception reflect not only my style, but Burton's as well.  My last piece of advice... have fun with it! : )

Congratulations again to our beautiful bride, Mrs. Elissa Clark
